Helper and Proxy Issues

If Rockxy cannot reliably start, stop, or control the system proxy path, fix that before debugging anything else.

Typical symptoms

  • capture does not start,
  • Rockxy reports a port conflict,
  • the helper appears outdated or unreachable,
  • the system proxy does not switch cleanly,
  • or capture stops working after an update or reinstall.

Fast checks

  1. verify the configured port is free,
  2. verify Rockxy is allowed to manage its helper path,
  3. inspect the Advanced settings state for helper and proxy diagnostics,
  4. retry with one clean start/stop cycle.

When this page matters most

Use it when the failure is about proxy control itself, not about one specific client. If only one runtime or device is broken while the rest of Rockxy works, use the target-specific setup or troubleshooting pages instead.

Settings

Review the Advanced settings surfaces that expose helper and update state.

Capture Issues

Continue there if Rockxy starts cleanly but the client still sends nothing useful.
